Old City hall
This was my first time shooting at Old City Hall, and I had the absolute joy of capturing Katy and Pachi's engagement session there. From the moment we arrived, I was struck by how perfect the space is for engagement photos. The grand architecture, staircases, and vintage details create such an elegant, timeless backdrop. For this part of their session, we went for an editorial look, soft, clean lines, thoughtful poses, and a focus on their connection. Pachi wore his crisp Navy whites, and Katy looked stunning in a classic white dress, which made their images feel both sophisticated and timeless. Shooting in a space like Old City Hall allows for that editorial vibe, where each frame can stand alone as a piece of art.
Bryan Park
After their City Hall session, we headed to Bryan Park for a completely different vibe. The park’s fields and peaceful meadow were perfect for playful, candid shots. Katy and Pachi had an outfit change, and we encouraged them to run through the fields, laugh together, and just enjoy the moment. These shots had a relaxed, natural feel that contrasted beautifully with the editorial elegance of Old City Hall. It’s one of my favorite ways to create a full story through a session—combining structured, editorial images with fun, candid moments.
As a Virginia engagement photographer, I love helping couples find locations that reflect their personalities and creating images that feel genuine, beautiful, and timeless. Old City Hall is such a stunning spot for couples who love architectural details and a more editorial style, while Bryan Park offers the perfect setting for carefree, romantic moments in nature.
Katy and Pachi's session was a perfect blend of both worlds, and it’s a reminder of why I love what I do: capturing love stories in a way that feels both personal and cinematic. If you’re looking for a Virginia engagement photographer to capture your connection in beautiful locations with editorial and authentic moments, I’d love to create a session like this for you.
